Highland Third Sector Interface
HTSI is an independent charity on a mission to support, encourage and inspire work with community groups, clubs, charities and other Third Sector organisations throughout Highland. HTSI works together with eight partners to deliver four specific themes of work
  • Volunteering development
  • Social Enterprise development
  • Supporting and developing a strong third sector
  • Building the third sector relationship with community planning
The Highland Third Sector Interface is the hosting organisation for the LGOWIT project.

Chest Heart & Stroke Scotland
Coronary heart disease is one of Scotland's biggest killers.
Stroke is the main cause of disability in the community.       
Chest illnesses of various kinds are the biggest single reason people use the health service.Chest Heart & Stroke Scotland improves the quality of life for people in Scotland
affected by chest, heart and stroke illness, through medical research, influencing public policy, advice and information and support in the community.

Versus Arthritis 
Over 700,000 people in Scotland have arthritis.
Arthritis Care acts on behalf of people in Scotland who are affected by arthritis. We provide them, their families and friends with support, understanding, information and expertise so they can cope better with the impact  of the condition and get the most out of life.

We act as a force for economic, social and cultural change by connecting and collaborating with businesses, public and third sector partners and communities.

The Highland Council work with community planning partners to promote health improvement and to reduce health inequalities.
The Highland Recovery Network is made up of individuals and groups who are interested in promoting mental well-being and mental health recovery.
Self-management for people living with long-term conditions is promoted through the Let's Get On With It (LGOWIT) partnership.

Connecting Carers
Connecting Carers work with unpaid carers to ensure that unpaid carers in Highland are not caring alone, that they are acknowledged and supported and that they have access to the information they need to enable them to carry out their caring role.

LGOWIT is not able to provide a 24 hour support service however for immediate help you can contact Breathing Space Scotland via their free confidential helpline on 0800 83 85 87. - open 24 hours at the weekends and 6pm to 2am weekdays. They also have an online chat option. For emotional support outwith these hours, contact Samaritans on 116 123 (available 24 hours a day, seven days a week).
