My Experience with a Gratitude Journal
Donna recommended keeping a gratitude journal during one of our Mindfulness sessions back in the summer of 2020 as a way to end the day on a positive note which can help us to let go and relax. I must say I had heard of this idea before and had even "bought the book" (a very prettily decorated notebook) but was rather sceptical that it would really make a difference. The gritty chopped up sleep I was experiencing at the time was enough to push me into giving it a go. I haven't looked back since starting. Even the days when it seems like nothing went quite right, there is always some little thing to record when you sit back and ponder - even if I sometimes had to cheat with something like "my cracking headache did go away before tea time" or repeat my most frequent entry "my furry family".
